Team Norfolk & Chance lost the first 2 games by a combined 100+ pins before staging a nice comeback to win the last and take total wood for a 2-2 draw.

We had 2 players over average in the first game (Simon and I) and 2 players over average in the 2nd (Simon and Nigel) but all 4 of us exceeded our averages in the last to salvage a split.

We were 7 points behind the league leaders, Team 7, and will remain 7 points behind them next week since they, too, split their games 2-2. By the way, what kind of team name is Team 7 anyway? Between the 4 of them, you'd think they could have come up with something a little bit more creative than that.

Simon continued his hot run with a 687 series which will take his season average to 199 and some change. With 3 weeks remaining in the season, a 200 book average is well within reach.

As for me, what a difference a day makes. I had a 3-open 688 series which looked and felt nothing like my series from Sunday. I was able to use the Defiant the whole way through. When it started to come in high at the start of the 2nd game, I moved a little left and looped it out a bit more and managed to hold pocket the rest of the night.

With so few weeks remaining in my fall seasons, I went ahead and signed up for 3 summer leagues, each of them different from the other. The first, on Monday nights, will be a scratch trio league. The second is a Youth/Adult league and the third is an individual head-to-head league. I hope that the three different formats will keep it fun over the summer.
